Youth and student opportunities

Still not sure if advanced manufacturing is for you?  Our regional businesses make it easy for you to check it out firsthand.  FAME members offer students and youth the opportunity for many work experiences, and Monroe Community College’s link to “Career Coach” can help you determine what jobs might be right for you!

Worksite Tours – Sign up for a local tour of an advanced manufacturing company and talk to business owners in our region about the possibilities in the field.

One-Day Job Shadows – Learn about advanced manufacturing jobs by walking through the work day as a shadow with an actual employee from one of our local companies.

Mentor Programs – Interested in having a mentor show you the ropes about advanced manufacturing?  This program is for you.

Semester Internships – We can place you at an advanced manufacturing company  for one semester to work in a temporary position and get on-the-job experience.

Cooperative Education Opportunities – These “co-op” experiences let you earn both money and academic credit for the knowledge and skills you acquire on the job.

Summer Employment – Let us place you with a local advanced manufacturing company for a three-month summer employment opportunity.
